Xin chao Viet Nam – Greetings to Vietnam!
A Study Trip in Vietnam with the Doctoral School, Faculty of Architecture
Text: Bence Török
Students and lecturers of the DLA course at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) had their annual study trip to Vietnam this year, after having visited Central and Western European countries so far. The goal of their trips has always been the same: on the one hand, to get to know a country or a city with regard to its culture and everyday life, and, on the other hand, to visit buildings and complexes which are architecturally significant. The programme now included heritage sights of Vietnamese culture in Ha Noi and its neighborhood, in the heart of the country. The group travelling there included 22 DLA students and 5 lecturers. An important event for our travel preparations was the visit of four lecturers from the University of Architecture in Ha Noi (HAU) who came to Budapest and held a lecture on November 24th in the fully booked auditorium of the Centre of Contemporary Architecture. Lecturers from HAU signed an agreement of cooperation between their university and BME with the chancellor of the Budapest-based university.
