There is a topic in architecture which is the most important for me of all: it is that of architectural space. The way it is structured, the principles qlong which it evolves are all puzzles to be solved. This may be one of the reasons why it was a pleasure for me to get hold of Holger Kleine’s book titled Raumdramaturgie: Typologie und Inszenierung von Innenräumen (Birkhaeuser Verlag, Basel), published in 2018 as it explains the interpretation of space in a direction so far unknown for me. The volume finds answers to lots of questions and yet leaves just as many unanswered so that the readers feel entitled to think about them, translate them for themselves and provide their own answers.
