A historical view of design is an evolutionary view. Our man-made objects and built systems can be derived from archetypes, increasingly complex variations and mutations that can be modelled as beautiful and useful worlds. The memetic view of design combines the properties of objects, their inherent uses, emotional, technical, and aesthetic functional codes (design DNA or memes) inherent in objects that combine from product to product, revealing their value and quality, and their survivability in the competition of selection as cultural meme design. The ecological approach to design views objects as the results of interactions between each other and with human beings, as well as with the natural and economic environment, as disappearing or surviving in a specific selection process, becoming successful and at the same time decisive for future generations to come. The game theory approach to design expands the creative decisions that influence market events in the selective competition and co-operation with the game theory methodology of design strategy. Design presupposes the knowledge of why, what, how, where, when, under what circumstances, with what sort of co-operation, in accordance with what, and based on what values we create our artificial environment.
