Since 2023, Károly Kós’s birthday, 16 December, has been officially the Hungarian Architecture Day, and the most prestigious state architectural awards are presented on this occasion. The most prestigious Hungarian architectural recognition, the Károly Kós Lifetime Achievement Award, which was established in 2023, was presented to István Ferencz, Kossuth Prize-winning architect, professor at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, and head of the Architectural Section of the Hungarian Academy of Arts.
