Exhibition of Budapest University of Technology, Department of Public Building Design

The Department of Public Building Design of the Budapest University of Technology celebrates the 70th anniversary of its foundation. The celebration is accompanied by a variety of events: in the first six months of the year two conferences were organised, a volume is going to be published soon, and from the end of September on the Art Gallery (Kunsthalle Budapest) hosts an exhibition presenting the works and activities of the department. Mihály Balázs, head of the department and Krisztina Somogyi, the curator of the exhibition have found an extraordinary scheme: instead of a chronological survey they chose a dialogue form to clarify concepts and encourage openness in thinking. The exhibition was opened by Pál Mácsai, actor and theatre director. hereby we are publishing the inaugural speech he delivered.
