Stadt-Räume
The European Prize for Public Space
Deutsches Architekturmuseum, Frankfurt, 16 April to 3 July 2011
In 2000, the Centre of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona (CCCB) initiated the European Prize four Urban Public Space, which is awarded every two years and which is devoted to the recognition, defense, and promotion of urban public space. It is an initiative of the CCCB in collaboration with The Architecture Foundation (London), Architekturzentrum Wien, Cité de l’architecture et du patrimoine (Paris), Nederlands Architectuurinstituut (Rotterdam), Museum of Finnish Architecture (Helsinki) and Deutsches Architekturmuseum. “STADT-RÄUME” showcases the award-winning projects in 2010 along with all 303 projects submitted. There is also a selection from the last five editions of the prize (2000–2008) on view. The exhibition was conceived by CCCB, adapted for Frankfurt by Deutsches Architekturmuseum, and expanded to include a section on plazas in Frankfurt.
