Vanishing Houses in Budapest

In the past few years a large number of precious houses have disappeared from Budapest that embodied unique values with their past and architectural significance. Hereby we are presenting a list of the losses far from being complete. Demolished buildings, abandoned houses, that were present with us 100-200 years ago with us, our families, parents, grandparents or even great-grandparents. The disappearance of our past, our history not only empoverishes us, but even more so affects the future generations to come, our children and grandchildren, who will not even have the chance to see them. These houses were not only witnesses to historical events, but are also imprints of their own age and era as topics of photographs or parts of the background in films.
